John Lennon: The Beatles and Beyond

John Lennon: The Beatles and Beyond

Wright, David K. John Lennon: The Beatles and Beyond. NJ, USA: Enslow Publishers, Inc., 1996. N. pag. Print.

Summary:
John Lennon faced a lot of problem through his life but he overcame them and kept on trying. John Lennon was born in October 9, 1940 in England. John was born when Hitler was in control of the War. One day John went on a trip with his dad, it was supposed to be a one day trip but his dad returned him a few days later but he wanted to keep him for a longer time. John’s dad then made John choose between his two parents. John chose his mom; his then dad disappeared and never showed up again. John went to a normal school but he always got into trouble even though at home he obeyed all the rules. One day, his uncle died of hemorrhage. John started becoming interested in music so he made a band called the Quarry Men. They sang a lot of songs by different artists and he had his friends in his band. They went on a lot of tours and they had to change a lot of their band members. John also changed his band name to The Beatles because he got inspired an Australian Band. One day John’s mom died by a speeding ambulance on break, but John overcame it and kept playing with his band. They kept going; they got famous and became millionaires. John Lennon was murdered in December 18, 1980. John Lennon was very perseverant and he never gave until he got his band to the top.

Reflection:
The book I read is a biography about John Lennon. It is a very nice book and I enjoyed it a lot because I always wanted to know about The Beatles. This book is important because kids that like music should read about old bands to know more about the past of music. John Lennon and The Beatles made history with their music by playing a lot of good songs that were very big hits. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in music and someone who like to learn about old bands or singers. But in this book I didn’t see myself like John Lennon since he went through a lot of trouble in his childhood. At the end I would give this book a 9/10 because it was very well written and gave a lot information about The Beatles.
